Diese Einladung zum Cybersecurity Hackathon richtet sich an alle Interessierte aus dem Saarland und darüber hinaus – vom ausgewiesenen Experten über Studierende, Azubis sowie Schüler:innen.

Denn am 25. Mai 2022 findet die Auftaktveranstaltung zum Cybersecurity Day (06.07.2022) in Form eines Hackathons statt – hier dreht sich alles um drei spannende Challenges in den Bereichen Data-/IT-Sicherheit, IoT und Open Source. Das Mentoring-Team um Facilitator Christoph Endres, aber auch Experten von Huawei Deutschland GmbH, der SaarLB und reuschlaw stehen Euch während der vierwöchigen Bearbeitungszeit zur Seite!

Zu gewinnen gibt es: Gutscheine im Wert von mehreren Hundert Euro sowie Arbeitsplätze im Co-Working-Space (z. B. Halle4) und ein fortgesetztes, exklusives Mentoring durch die Challenge-Geber und das Team des East Side Fab

Und eine Besonderheit – ihr müsst nicht innerhalb eines Wochenendes fertig sein:

Für eine arbeitnehmer- und familienfreundliche(re) Durchführung habt Ihr vom 25. Mai bis zum 30. Juni 2022 Zeit, Eure innovativen MVPs und Protoypen zu entwickeln.

So viel vorab zu den möglichen Aufgabenstellungen des Hackathons, die alle einen Fokus auf IT- und Data Security haben (detaillierte Erläuterungen und Daten folgen beim Kick-off): 

1 Wie sieht für euch ein innovatives Security-Dashboard aus, über das sicherheitsrelevante Daten von relevanten Stakeholdern eingespielt und ausgewertet werden können? (Challenge-Geber SaarLB),

2 Welche kreative OSINT-Lösung schwebt Euch vor, um die Vertrauenswürdigkeit von Lieferanten zu überprüfen? (Challenge-Geber SaarLB)

3 Wie sieht Eure digitale IoT-Innovation (Open Source, bevorzugt Oniro) für Smart-Home-Automationssysteme aus? (Challenge-Geber Huawei)

Die Challenge-Themen werden beim Kick-off (25. Mai 2022, 17–19 Uhr) im East Side Fab, Saarbrücken vorgestellt – eine virtuelle Teilnahme von außerhalb des Saarlandes ist auch möglich: sowohl für die Challenge-Präsentationen (Zoom-Meeting) als auch das anschließende Team-Building (Slack Workspace). Hier trefft ihr auf Gleichgesinnte mit und ohne Hackathon-Erfahrung – für kreative und interdisziplinäre Teams.

– Demo Day und Preisverleihung

Beim virtuellen Demo-Day am 1. Juli 2022 (17-19 Uhr, Termin unbedingt vormerken) präsentiert ihr dann eure Lösungen und Ergebnisse vor den Jury-Mitgliedern, den Challengebern Huawei Deutschland GmbH und SaarLB. Die attraktiven Preise der beiden Unternehmen werden Euch während des Cybersecurity Days am 6.7.2022 um 17 Uhr überreicht.

Software and hardware developers, IT cracks, IoT experts and everyone interested in hackatons: let’s kick-start Cybersecurity Hackathon at East Side Fab!

Located in Saarland or beyond, everyone interested is cordially invited to attend our hackathon focused on (cyber-)security and digitisation – be it proven experts, students, trainees or pupils.

This hackathon starts with an initial kickoff on May 25, 2022, and represents the prelude to Cybersecurity Day (July 7, 2022, in Saarbrücken: see calendar). Here everything revolves around three exciting challenges in the areas of data/IT security, IoT and open source. The mentoring teams around facilitator Christoph Endres as well as experts from Huawei Deutschland GmbH, SaarLB, and reuschlaw are ready to guide you through the four-week hackathon phase!

Prizes to be awarded are: Vouchers worth several hundreds of euros as well as temporary access to co-working space facilities (such as Halle4 in Saarbrücken) and continued, exclusive mentoring by both the challenge donors and East Side Fab team

A special feature of Cybersecurity Hackathon: You don’t have to finish within a (sleepless) weekend! Instead, a four-week hackathon phase is allocated to build your innovative MVPs and prototypes (between May 25 and June 30, 2022) – wich we consider (more) employee- and family-friendly.

As a registered participant, it’s up to you to choose among the following topics (detailed explanations and data will be made available during the kick-off event):

1 How do you imagine an innovative security dashboard, through which security-relevant data from relevant stakeholders can be imported and evaluated? (challenge donor: SaarLB),

2 What is your creative OSINT solution to verify the trustworthiness of suppliers? (challenge donor: SaarLB)

3 What is your digital IoT innovation (open source, Oniro preferred) for smart home automation systems? (challenge donor: Huawei Deutschland GmbH).

– Kick-off and team-building:

The Challenge topics will be presented at the kick-off (May 25, 2022, 5-7 pm) at East Side Fab, Saarbrücken – virtual participation from outside Saarland is also possible, during the donors‘ challenge presentations (Zoom meeting) as well as for the subsequent team building (Slack Workspace). Meet like-minded people with and without hackathon experience – for creative and interdisciplinary teams.

– Demo Day & Award Ceremony

At the virtual demo day on July 1, 2022 (5-7 pm, make sure to mark the date), you will pitch your challenge solutions to the jury members, consisting of experts from Huawei Deutschland GmbH and SaarLB. The attractive prizes will be awarded by these two challenge donors at Cybersecurity Day on July 6, 2022 (5-6 pm).
