How? By hunting dragons… After all, nothing fosters more innovative teamwork than chasing a dragon together.
What is the difference between a team that simply works together—and a team with a true sense of identity? Think of “the Fellowship” from “The Lord of the Rings”: At first, they barely know each other; they come from completely different worlds—Elves, Dwarves, Men, and Hobbits—and are brought together to pursue a common goal: to take the One Ring to Mount Doom and destroy it. What initially looks like a loose-knit group with many conflicts evolves into a true unit over the course of their journey. The Fellowship builds trust, grows through their differences, discovers shared values—and a strong identity that carries them through the greatest challenges. They become “the Fellowship.” This identity is more than just “good teamwork.” It gives meaning, creates a sense of belonging, and ensures that the team remains capable of taking action even in difficult situations. In real teams, such an identity does not arise solely through traditional team-building activities.
It requires space for debate, a shared vision, and values put into practice.

JASMIN JUSTEN
Founder of DragonHunt Team Development
Since 2020, Jasmin has been building teams by sending them on fictional dragon hunts. From 2021 to April 2026, she has been doing this together with Irmi Schäffl as “twelve or higher GbR.”
While studying physics, she discovered the amazing world of pen-and-paper role-playing games. At some point, she realized that a special kind of bond forms between people who go hunting dragons together. When she then noticed the parallels between teams in a professional context and the groups of heroes in these stories, it became clear: this needs to be leveraged in a corporate setting.
