DeepLegal

Generative AI for Lawyers

AI agents in the legal field—impossible? With DeepLegal, automating and streamlining workflows at local law firms is now a reality.

The idea.

Integration of a practical AI agent tailored specifically to the legal sector, which supports local law firms in their workflows and makes them competitive against global players.

The goal of the project is to develop an AI agent for the complex legal industry. DeepLegal is designed to help local law firms automate the generation of non-client-related work based on source materials.

DeepLegal incorporates existing content from attorneys to reflect their writing style and content focus. This is expected to save 80% of the time required for legal content marketing in particular.

Challenge.

Work processes will be significantly accelerated in the future through the use of AI technology. Global tech conglomerates such as OpenAI and Microsoft have recently achieved dominance with modern AI agents like ChatGPT and Sydney. This concentration of AI technology among a few large corporations is leading to an increasing process of monopolization. In the legal sector, too, the technology is being monopolized by large, globally active firms such as Allen & Overy. As a result, local law firms such as DURY LEGAL or reuschlaw are facing intense pressure to innovate and improve efficiency.

The concentration of AI technology in the hands of a few players can lead to inequality in access. Furthermore, global corporations have an advantage in developing AI technologies due to their monopolistic position and can bring them to market more quickly. At the same time, existing AI agents struggle with staying up to date and are prone to “hallucinations” (misinformation). Local law firms must face the pressure to innovate driven by new technologies and quickly integrate them into their work processes.

Open competition can lead to broader adoption and faster development of AI technologies. Local companies must remain competitive through new technologies in order to maintain their market position. A one-sided concentration of technology in the hands of a few corporations can lead to a market monopoly. Local companies must adapt their work processes to incorporate AI technologies in order to avoid being at a disadvantage.

It is important that local businesses and startups have the opportunity to compete in the market and offer their products and services in order to promote open competition and a broader range of innovation.
